These tours/open mornings are recommended for parents who have either little or no knowledge of Steiner education or for those who are interested in increasing their knowledge generally. All mornings start at 10am with a talk on the education followed by a guided tour of the school, visiting working classes and having questions answered throughout, which gives the opportunity to witness the education as it unfolds and to discover the reality of Steiner Waldorf education. The talks will be tailored to fit the age range of families attending.  The school extends a warm invitation and welcome to all interested individuals to attend. Please book through reception on 01273 386300.

Brighton Steiner School, founded in 1984, is an independent co-educational school for children aged 3 to 16. It provides a proven alternative to mainstream education as well as offering GCSEs to its Upper School pupils. It is one of 32 schools in the UK (there are 894 worldwide) that follow the renowned international Steiner-Waldorf Curriculum.  The curriculum offers a comprehensive range of subjects with a focus on interdisciplinary learning and the development of social and creative abilities alongside academic achievement. The emphasis is on the holistic development of each pupil, to nurture the skills and confidence your child will need in life.

Free School Status: Following substantial changes to the application process, Brighton Steiner School has decided not to submit an application to become a Free School for the time being.  It is a founding principle of Steiner Waldorf education that it should be available to all, irrespective of their financial circumstances, but without support from elsewhere we are reliant on contributions from families and fundraising.  We will observe and monitor any possibility of outside funding for our school but will not compromise the essence of our established educational practice, curriculum or principles.

Please read our recent  Schools Inspection Service report  (Summer 2010).

Our highest endeavour must be to develop creative and responsible human beings who are able to deal with diverse situations and to direct their lives with purpose.
