The College of Teachers is currently inviting applications for the teaching positions of:
Class 1 Teacher for September 2009 - An experienced Steiner Waldorf teacher is sought to teach Class 1 (year group 2) and ideally take the class through to Class 8. The successful applicant will have the confidence to take on a new class, with the support of the existing teaching staff and designated mentors. Closing date is 30th June 2009.
Brighton Steiner School is a vibrant, forward-looking school with a student/parent body that reflects the cosmopolitan energy of this beautiful city by the sea. The school was started in 1984 out of the will and desire of a small group of parents and has grown to have an established pupil base of 240. We currently have a number of Parent & Toddler groups, two Kindergartens and Main School Classes through to Class 10. The Upper School was developed three years ago, successfully delivering a rounded embrace of Steiner pedagogy and GCSE syllabus material and more recently offering Open College Network qualifications to assess the Steiner curriculum.
The staff body of the school are mixed in experience and pedagogical approach, with a strong impulse to see Steiner education in a modern world. Current salary stands at £14,000 (20,715 euro) full time with £16.20 per lesson allocation.
